What is the difference between PU sealant and silicone?

PU sealant is more rigid than silicone once cured. It offers better mechanical shear resistance and can be painted. Silicone remains elastic and waterproof but is not paintable. Choose PU for fixing/structure, silicone for pure sealing.

Can the 647FC sealant replace a weld bead?

For non-structural assemblies (bodywork, panels, shimming), yes the 647FC offers excellent strength and durable flexibility. For load-bearing structural elements, it complements but does not replace welding. Always follow vehicle manufacturer recommendations.
